MailChimp Releases Enhanced Spam Filter Check and Email Analysis Tool

October 24, 2007; 11:02 AM

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 24, 2007 -- MailChimp launches new Inbox Inspector tool for viewing how email campaigns look in 16 different email clients such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail, Lotus Notes, AOL, Earthlink and other popular email clients. The affordable tool gives do-it-yourself email marketers the ability to check email for content normally stopped by spam filters.

MailChimp uses technology developed by Return Path to test email campaigns in major email programs, spam filters, and corporate firewalls. "The Inbox Inspector tool detects which spam filters are most likely to block email campaigns," said Ben Chestnut, Co-Founder of MailChimp. "It detects broken links, HTML errors, and typos in email campaign content." Inbox Inspector generates reports for customers detailing exact issues of their email campaign that can result in spam filter blocking.

MailChimp was one of the first email marketing solutions companies to utilize the power of Return Path's technology. Functionality like Inbox Inspector can cost about $8k in upfront costs, and $2k per year to maintain. As an add-on to MailChimp, Inbox Inspector costs only $13 per inspection or it can be used as a standalone product. "Thanks to the technology from Return Path, MailChimp is able to give small businesses the same testing tools that large retailers use in their email marketing," said Chestnut.

Inbox Inspector displays how emails look with or without images. When activated, the tool is available inside MailChimp's user interface. The tool's one-click preview and spam filter check makes it easy for marketers to zoom in on where emails scroll in the end user email client preview pane. It only takes a few minutes to run tests and generate reports. Once tests have completed and reports are generated, users can view screenshots displaying how their email campaign looks on 16 popular email clients. Reports can be generated in PDF files for easy viewing.

"Since using MailChimp we have seen a marked increase in delivery rates, open rates and click throughs -- meaning our ROI has improved significantly," said Iain Gibbons, Managing Director of Mobious (http://www.emobious.com).
