StrongMail Expands Messaging Solutions with SMS Capabilities and Sybase 365 Partnership

October 16, 2007; 05:45 AM

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--StrongMail Systems, Inc., the innovation leader in email infrastructure software, today announced new SMS messaging capabilities for delivering event-triggered alerts and notifications in real-time. StrongMail also today announced a partnership with Sybase 365, the global leader in mobile messaging interoperability and the delivery of mobile content, to deliver StrongMail-generated SMS messages via Sybase 365s 700 mobile operator connections around the world.

StrongMail's new SMS capabilities enhance the value of its existing suite of on-premise solutions for marketing and transactional email by giving companies more flexibility to communicate with their customers via their preferred communication method. StrongMail's SMS capabilities will also enable companies to take advantage of this increasingly important channel for delivering instant notifications and event-triggered alerts.

By providing reliable email and SMS delivery from a single platform, StrongMail will enable companies to offer their customers more options for receiving time-sensitive messages. For example, an airline could use StrongMail's transactional email and SMS solutions to provide its website customers with the option to be notified of flight changes via email, text message or both.

StrongMail has built its reputation on providing businesses with superior on-premise solutions for their marketing and transactional needs, and we are now expanding our expertise to SMS, said Dave Cormier, director of product marketing at StrongMail Systems. Our prospects and customers are excited about the business potential of leveraging email and text messages from a single in-house platform, and Sybase 365 is a valuable partner in getting those messages delivered.

StrongMail's SMS capabilities integrate seamlessly with Sybase 365's operator-grade delivery platform that connects with the SMS infrastructure of more than 700 mobile operators across the globe. The world's number one provider of mobile messaging interoperability, Sybase 365 offers StrongMail unparalleled worldwide reach and reliable delivery with a single connection.

This partnership provides companies with a powerful new solution for delivering messages via two of the most effective customer communication channels email and SMS, said Gregory Dunn, vice president, Americas, Sybase 365. By integrating its SMS capabilities with Sybase 365's worldwide network of mobile operators, StrongMail enables its customers to create a powerful connection with mobile users.
