The feature set enables consumers and small businesses to easily share folders and files with a specific audience directly from their ElephantDrive accounts. Because many of the end users of ElephantDrive take advantage of the online storage and automated backup, most items selected for sharing are already stored in their accounts and require no upload time whatsoever.

The explosive growth that viral applications like sharing generate underscores the importance of the company's use of Amazon Web Services, specifically Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3).
