Ad Formats First Introduced by Ripe Digital Entertainment Paved the Way for YouTube and Others

RDE’s Advertising Model Has Been Proven in the Marketplace for Years With Brands Such as Dodge, Cingular, and Others

August 29, 2007; 02:55 AM
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ripe Digital Entertainment (RDE), the first company to sell On Demand media simultaneously over broadband, VOD and mobile on an innovative Cost-Per-View basis, blasted onto the scene more than two years ago with an original broadband video advertising model including formats now referred to as overlays, bugs, and skins. RDEs trademarked concept, Connective Advertising, began an unprecedented trend in the industry.

In May 2004, RDE announced the anticipated launch of the first advertiser supported On Demand network that would feature embedded advertising formats. The company has successfully implemented their inventive formats with major brands such as Dodge, Procter & Gamble, and Cingular since RipeTV® first aired in 2005.

RDEs original advertising model has led to over 90% renewal rates with chief advertisers, proving that the ad formats RDE pioneered two years ago are highly effective and accepted within the advertising community. From YouTube and VideoEgg, to major media companies such as Viacom and NBC, many have since followed in RDEs footsteps.

We were the first to implement a brand new advertising concept when we initially launched RipeTV®, embedding advertisers' messages directly into the video content, said Ryan Magnussen, CEO of RDE. Everyone seems to finally be catching up to what weve been doing with great success for years. Remaining at the forefront of industry trends, RDE continues to evolve its established ad formats with significant innovations expected by the end of the year.

Receiving one of the largest rounds of fundraising in digital media from investors including Hearst-Argyle and Time Warner, RDE has launched three unique networks, RipeTV®, OctaneTV, and FlowTV, serving advertisers looking for innovative methods of reaching target audiences through new media.
