NetApp Highlights Disk-to-Disk and Archival Solutions With Data Deduplication at Symantec Vision 2007 Conference

June 11, 2007; 03:13 AM
 What:

Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP) continues to evolve its long-standing relationship with Symantec through a myriad of high-profile activities at Symantec's upcoming Vision 2007 conference in Las Vegas, June 12 - 14. Activities include speaking sessions, solution demonstrations, and exclusive customer activities. As part of the company's presence, NetApp President Tom Mendoza will deliver a keynote address titled, "Simple, Unified Storage for a Heterogeneous World," in which he will discuss key trends that are driving complexity in the connected world, and how customers are responding by simplifying data management, managing growth, and driving cost out of the data center with unified storage and techniques like data deduplication.

At the show, NetApp and Symantec will present customer case studies and demonstrations highlighting a variety of solutions tailored for Symantec environments. Areas of focus are data protection, information management, high availability and disaster recovery, and storage/SAN management. For more information regarding NetApp presence and areas of focus, please listen to Symantec's VISION Partner Podcast with NetApp here: http://www.symantec.com/content/en/us/about/mp3/ent/ Podcast_ENT_netapp_vision_07.mp3 (Due to its length, this URL may need to be copied/pasted into your Internet browser's address field. A key theme cutting across many of the solution areas is that of managing data growth. NetApp(R) data deduplication technology is aimed squarely at solving this challenge by reducing storage space up to 95 percent and is embedded in many of the joint solutions profiled in the breakouts and booth demonstrations. Attendees can learn how joint NetApp and Symantec customers are employing deduplication to reduce costs, gain better availability, and simplify backup and recovery. Attendees can also pick up a Centipede(R) T-shirt and register at booth 407 to win a standup Centipede arcade game while learning more about NetApp deduplication capabilities.
