iPost Announces Autotarget -- the Next Generation of Email AnalyticsJune 1, 2007; 09:54 AM Autotarget technology provides a highly effective tool for predicting customer responses to marketing efforts with a low-barrier to entry. Using traditional RFM data (recency, frequency, and monetary) in addition to metrics for customer interactions unique to the online world such as clicks and views, Autotarget technology is an innovative adaptation of a proven marketing model. Unlike other approaches to customer segmentation, Autotarget technology allows virtually real-time analysis of 100% of the subscriber list. Analyzing behavioral data from a client’s email marketing and from external sources such as e-commerce websites or web analytics tools, Autotarget technology can create personas — customers who are likely to respond similarly. Every interaction, whether it is an email message or a purchase, is counted as criteria toward predicting future behavior. Getting data from external sources into Autotarget is facilitated by iPost integration “plug-ins,” or by use of the iPost Simple Data Format (ISDF). Development of Autotarget technology, led by Stephen Webster, Chief Strategy Officer at iPost and Dr. Barton Schaefer, iPost’s CTO, began in late 2006. “With Autotarget technology iPost clients can overcome the high cost, incomplete analyses, and lack of cross-channel integration that has historically inhibited marketer’s efforts to create effective, predictive tools,” said Russell McDonald, CEO of iPost.
