SoonR to Showcase New Mobile Workspace for Ultra Mobile PCs

April 18, 2007; 04:21 AM
SoonR, an Intel Capital portfolio company, launches a mobile command center for end users and workgroups that supports PCs, Macs, mobile phones, and now extends support for UMPCs.

Today at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing, SoonR will launch SoonR for the UMPC. SoonR demonstrates how a UMPC, any connected PC, and a mobile phone can work together to create a virtual mobile network that connects users to their content on the go. Using SoonRs AnyTime service, content stored on a PC, such as pictures, documents or presentations, can be accessed through standard internet protocols from the UMPC, even if the PC is turned off.

SoonR enables mobile access, communication and the sharing of information instantly from a UMPC, to any handset, and on any carrier network anywhere in the world. Professionals today are becoming more mobile and interact with more people. It is becoming harder to predict exactly what information is needed and how to exchange information in real time. Whether traveling around the neighborhood or around the world, mobile professionals still need to drive success and will need access to all content and information that resides on the computers at the office or at home.

When you combine SoonRs mobile platform with the UMPC, people worldwide can take everything with them and share it with other mobile users to help them succeed, said Martin Frid-Nielsen, CEO and founder of SoonR. SoonR has built a bridge between any Internet connected mobile device on any network, and given our OEM partners a way to rapidly offer profitable new services leveraging their existing infrastructure while minimizing deployment issues.

With SoonR, the UMPC delivers remote access to content and applications, anywhere anytime, making the platform an ideal companion, said Pankaj Kedia, Director of Global Ecosystem Programs, Intel Ultra Mobility Group. The flexibility of SoonRs solution complements the performance and versatility of Intel-based UMPCs, providing an outstanding mobile experience to mobile workers.
