Apptix Partners with Colligo to Provide Offline SharePoint Solutions for SharePointSite.com Customers

November 28, 2006; 02:25 AM
Colligo Networks Inc., a leader in offline collaboration solutions for mobile professionals, today announced a partnership with Apptix to deliver offline access to Microsoft SharePoint®. Apptix, a premiere provider of on-demand messaging and collaboration solutions for the small and medium-sized business market, will offer Colligo's solutions to its highly mobile customer base to enable them to easily synchronize online SharePoint content with their laptops for immediate use while working offline. Under this agreement, Apptix customers will benefit from the functionality of Colligo Reader™ for SharePoint® and Colligo Contributor™ for SharePoint®.

"Today, Apptix hosts more than 1,400 SharePoint sites for customers worldwide," said Alex Yevelev, vice president of direct sales at Apptix. "Given the increasing requirement to support mobile access to information and tools - anywhere, anytime, we recognized the need to provide offline access to our customers' SharePoint sites. Our partnership with Colligo allows us to deliver a truly seamless online-offline solution for our all of our SharePoint customers."

Apptix is the latest company to join the Colligo for SharePoint Partner Program. This program now boasts more than 20 partners in key global markets, including the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, New Zealand, and Israel. Partners include Apptix, eVallis Ltd., ADVIS AG, Atlantech Ltd., and F1Systems. "The new program is designed to give our partners the tools and support they require to succeed in deploying Colligo Reader and Colligo Contributor to their customers," said Barry Jinks, president and CEO of Colligo Networks. "By working with our partners to extend the value of their solutions, we are also helping SharePoint customers achieve their full business potential both online and offline."

"Colligo will be working with Microsoft's systems integrators as they deploy SharePoint," said Sara Palmbush, Analyst with The 451 Group, a technology industry analyst company focused on the business of enterprise IT innovation, in a recent report. "Colligo will in effect be helping Microsoft unstick deals that have hinged on the need for an offline capability." This comment appeared in an independent report, titled "Colligo looks to succeed by giving offline support to Microsoft SharePoint," which was published on April 3, 2006 (see Editor's Note below).

The partner program is designed to contribute to the success of organizations that deploy Microsoft SharePoint solutions - including SharePoint services hosting partners, system integrators, and value-added resellers. A variety of partnership options are available to suit a number of business models and desired levels of engagement with Colligo. Marketing Partners are including "Get Colligo for SharePoint" buttons on their site templates to help individual users download Colligo Reader and buy Colligo Contributor directly from Colligo's Online Store. Resellers are managing enterprise deployments of Colligo for SharePoint solutions.

Colligo Reader and Colligo Contributor are the easiest offline SharePoint solutions to deploy, learn, and use. Free for individuals, Colligo Reader offers offline read access to entire SharePoint sites. Colligo Contributor provides a significant productivity advantage with full read, modify, create, and two-way synchronization functionality. They are lightweight (4.5 MB) .NET 2.0 clients and require no server components or modifications. These rich clients deliver a new level of offline support for SharePoint features - including document libraries, InfoPath forms, custom metadata and views, and lists such as events, issues, links, contacts, announcements, tasks, and agendas. Shipping versions are compatible with version 2 of Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. Colligo is currently working on the next version of its offline SharePoint products that will be compatible with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.
