ByIndia Integration into Web2 Corp Complete, New Product Features to Launch October 26th

October 26, 2006; 04:34 AM
To create a dominant search portal for India, the Web2 Corporation plan was to integrate social networking, classifieds, video and other “Web 2.0” products already proven popular in the United States. The first wave of those features will become available tomorrow at www.byindia.com.

What integration meant to Web2 was a common, easy user experience and features that work together seamlessly. This has been the Web2 hallmark in all of its products. Web2’s mantra is to simplify products by integrating the most-used features of individual competing products into one easy common interface. It is a strategy that now appears to be validated by both Google and News Corp as they adopt a similar strategy.

“Combine Google’s recent move to integrate independent development products into existing product lines with News Corp’s acquisition spree of products to weld onto MySpace and you see that an aggregation of services is what the market demands,” said William Mobley, Chairman and CEO of Web2 Corp. “Individual 'widgets' that are aggregated using the browser as the point of collection and management are not the sweet spot of the market. Users want easy interoperability of each new cool feature.”

Web2 Corp has been clued into this for over a year. The company’s management team is an over-forty group who started solving business problems with the Internet when it was a collection of User Groups and Bulletin Boards. “No disrespect to Mr. O’Reilly who writes about Web 2.0, but Web2 Corp management IS Web 2.0,” says William Mobley, Chairman and CEO of Web2 Corp. “While people are trying to define Web 2.0, Web2 Corp has quietly moved to Web 2.1 where all of the latest products have been made to work together. ByIndia.com’s launch of social networking, classifieds, auctions, video and other features integrated into search tailored for India is a perfect example.”
