Breach Security Announces that SAP Selects Breachview SSL

Breachview SSL to help SAP eliminate the SSL blind spot and protect against encrypted threats

September 5, 2006; 03:40 AM

Breach Security, Inc., a leader in the emerging market for intelligent web application security, today announced that SAP AG, the world's leading provider of business software solutions, has chosen Breachview SSL(TM) to enhance their ability to detect unwanted security intrusions by enabling inspection of SSL/network traffic.

"Over 50 percent of our network traffic is now encrypted through SSL and as a result security challenges around protecting data from intruders will become more significant and costly," said Thorsten Herre, Global Security Officer for SAP Hosting. "Since network intrusion detection sensors are unable to decrypt SSL, they cannot analyze the most critical incoming traffic for attacks. BreachView SSL provides the required visibility into this encrypted traffic."

Breachview SSL provides SAP with an enterprise-class security solution for decrypting and analyzing all SSL/HTTPS traffic within their existing global intrusion detection system (IDS) solution. Breachview SSL will be rolled out to a minimum of eight IDS enterprise network sensors around the globe to protect and observe all of SAP's network traffic. More than 30 productivity and business critical Internet scenarios, such as the SAP Service Marketplace and the SAP Developer Network, are secured by Breachview SSL.

The low total cost of ownership and the ability to easily deploy a non-intrusive software plug-in -- passive decryption without SSL termination -- for the existing SAP IDS solution were two of the key reasons why SAP selected Breachview SSL for enhancing their intrusion detection capabilities.
