Trailfire, Inc., a Seattle-based software and services company, announced they are working with Microsoft to make a say anything anywhere plug-in available for Internet Explorer 7.

"Trails" allow web surfers to link related pages.

The rise of application plug-ins for browsers has been a fantastic success story and has created new economic models for many web-based companies, says Alex Rublowsky, vice president of marketing with Trailfire. With the introduction of Internet Explorer 7 Microsoft opens this market opportunity to the mainstream. There are millions more people on the web that will now be in a position to take advantage of the services that companies like Trailfire provide on the web. This is a beginning of a new Internet era.

The Trailfire plug-in now enables users of Internet Explorer 7 to comment on any Web page. Users simply place a trail mark on a page with their comments or notes. A trail mark can contain text, images, video and audio. When users give several trail marks the same trail name they can form their own navigation paths or trails.

The trails, hosted at the Trailfire Web site, can be used to share stories, or to communicate an individuals own point of view about content on a particular Web site. The trails then can be shared by sending them via email, posting them on a blog or by publishing them on Trailfire.com.

Trailfire helps provide a fun way for Internet Explorer 7 users to navigate and interact on the web, said Gary Schare, director of Internet Explorer Product Management at Microsoft Corp. Internet Explorer 7 is designed to help make browsing safer and easier so customers can upgrade and extend the experience with confidence.
