Oracle announced it has recruited 342 new ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) and VARs (Value Added Resellers) into its Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) QuickStart Plus programme since June 2006. That brings the total number of partners signed up to Oracle QuickStart over the 1,000 mark. QuickStart Plus is an entry level offering for new Oracle VARs and ISVs who wish to sell Oracle Database and Application Server Standard Edition One and Standard Edition to SMBs.

"This is great news for the Oracle partner community and a testament to the opportunities available to ISVs and VARs selling to SMBs," said Penny Philpot, Senior Director, Oracle Alliances & Channels. "QuickStart Plus provides support that allows partners to quickly take advantage of Oracle products and offer industry leading solutions to a very buoyant SMB market."

OPN QuickStart Plus builds on the success of OPN QuickStart, which was launched in September 2004. Partners enrolled in OPN QuickStart enjoy a wealth of business driving benefits such as full access to the OPN Competency Center and technology training roadmaps, sales and marketing kits, developer toolkits, access to the Oracle University online library and discounts on Oracle University class registration fees.

For an annual fee of €255, OPN QuickStart Plus members are able to take advantage of a range of additional resources including a SMB introductory seminar, SMB sales training, a salesperson incentive programme (where available), inclusion in SMB local sales campaigns, enhanced migration support and tools including migration centres for ISVs.
