Solid Cactus, a Wilkes-Barre, PA-based website development and consulting company, today introduced "Protected By Cactus," a suite of intellectual property protection services for the small business community.

"With the growth of e-commerce, online store owners need to protect their intellectual property such as logos, slogans, artwork, product descriptions and other unique and protectable content and product descriptions from unscrupulous individuals looking to take those items and copy them for their own financial gain," according to Scott Sanfilippo, co-founder of Solid Cactus. "Unfortunately, stealing content from websites is very common, and the ramifications for the legitimate owner of that content can be loss of sales, exclusion from the search engines, decrease in market share and dilution of product."

Initially, Solid Cactus will be offering three types of intellectual property protection for their customers: website copyrighting, trademark registration, and Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) filings upon the discovery of infringing uses of customer content. Additional services will be developed around the needs and requests of customers.
