The Flashforward team announce the sixty finalists for the 16th Flashforward Film Festival, taking place in Austin, TX, September 13, during Flashforward2006 Austin.
The public is encouraged to select one of the finalists as their choice
to be the recipient of the prestigious People’s Choice award, given to
the one site that receives the most votes from viewers. Voting is
open now.
Flash web sites nominated by the public were reviewed by a
panel of expert judges, who selected four finalists in each of fifteen
categories. Taken collectively, these finalists represent the state of
the art in Flash web design and development around the world. Anyone
looking for insight or inspiration can visit these sites.
The 16th Flashforward Film Festival will culminate in a live awards
ceremony to be held during the Flashforward2006 Austin conference.
All sixty finalists will be showcased at the ceremony, and the fifteen
category winners will be revealed, along with the winner of the
People’s Choice voting. All winners will receive the prestigious Big
Orange Rubber Arrow, a mark of respect from their peers in the Flash
community.
The conference will take place September 11-14 at the Hilton Austin,
and the festival awards ceremony will begin at 7:15pm on Wednesday,
September 13. Admission to the ceremony is included for attendees of
the conference, and tickets are also available separately for anyone

Flashforward is a
conference focusing on Flash, which was recently acquired by Adobe.
Since its inception six years ago, more than 20,000 professionals in
the industries of design, interactivity, animation, video, and motion
graphics have attended 15 events in cities such as San Francisco,
Seattle, New York, Amsterdam, and London. The Flashforward Film
Festival takes place in conjunction with the conference, and showcases
the most innovative Flash techniques on the web around
