Experts in wireless networking and municipal governance will hold an online seminar on Wi-Fi deployment in urban areas on July 25th.  The seminar, in the form of a webcast, will provide information about wireless mesh trends, applications, business models and benefits, related to the technology.  The event is hosted by networking company Cisco Systems.

Esme Vos, founder of MuniWireless, will moderate an online roundtable discussion with Pete Collins, CIO of Austin, Texas; Tom Oliver, IT manager of Lebanon, Oregon; and Ben Gibson, marketing director, Cisco Systems.

From the seminar website:

"In the city of the future, municipal broadband promises high-speed, high-bandwidth connections, delivering an array of services from a wide range of providers. Connectivity has already changed many aspects of our lives through the collaborative possibilities it offers. Broadband wireless connectivity brings this transformation to the next level by providing not just more information or more forms of communication, but better and richer services for the city. ...broadband wireless is changing cities to make them more efficient and responsive to their community."

Registration details are at www.muniwireless.com/webcasts/.
