Cisco Systemswill demonstrate its network
threat-defense solutions at the 6th Hack in the Box Security Conference
taking place Sept. 18-21 at the Westin Kuala Lumpur. The various
Cisco products help businesses identify and defuse perilous events
such as access breaches, "day zero" worm attacks and viruses, and
internal threats. The Cisco Threat Defense System brings
together security solutions and intelligent networking technologies
designed to mitigate threats whether they are known or unknown or arise
from inside or outside the business. The systems-based approach
protects an organization's productivity and performance through the
flexible and customizable deployment of security and network services.
Kumaran Singaram, the managing director of Cisco Systems Malaysia, said
that in today's business environment, network security is more than
just a "nice to have" tool. It has become a basic requirement for
businesses. "Businesses and organizations need to realize the
importance of implementing a security system for their networks.
Security solutions can help companies save money by enabling
productivity increases, business resiliency and operations stability,"
he said. To increase awareness of the importance of security,
Cisco is participating as one of the main sponsors at the 6th annual
Hack in the Box Security Conference. This year's conference will offer
a seven-day hands-on technical training session and two days of
deep-knowledge presentations to enable the dissemination and discussion
of deep-knowledge network security information. The event will feature
more than 30 leading specialists from the mainstream network security
arena as well as from the underground, or "black hat," community.
