Netopia, provider broadband service assurance solutions, announced it will demonstrate its award-winning Timbuktu Pro remote control software and eCare Web-enabled interactive support platform at the National Education Computing Conference. NECC 2006 will be held July 5 to July 7 at the San Diego Convention Center. The world's largest educational technology exhibit, NECC gathers educators and IT managers tasked with the planning, purchase, and implementation of technologies and services that benefit the education community.

The complementary functionality in the Timbuktu Pro and eCare platforms enables live desktop-to-desktop connections for campus faculty, students, and IT support staff, whether on or off campus. Netopia's Timbuktu Pro software platform provides secure remote access and control, making it an ideal tool for educators and students to use for remote collaboration over any LAN, WAN, or Internet connection. Its integration with Internet telephony provider Skype also enables live remote chat. Netopia's eCare software application allows campus network and IT administrators to access individual remote desktops to troubleshoot and resolve issues on end-user systems, using a browser-based thin client connection. Through the use of these remote access and control tools, educators can continue to educate, unencumbered by the increasing complexity of the classroom IT environment.

Netopia staff will be available in booth No. 3146 to demonstrate Timbuktu Pro and eCare from 12:45 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5; from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6; and from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7. Visitors to Netopia's booth can enter to win a one-year subscription to eCare, valued at $2,400.
