Citrix NetScaler Gains Share in Web Application Delivery Market

Citrix Systems, provider of access infrastructure solutions, announced growth in the $209M Application Delivery Controller (ADC) market according to a new report from Gartner titled "Market Share: Application Acceleration Equipment, Worldwide 1Q'06". From Q405 to Q106 the Citrix NetScaler product line posted the highest overall growth rate of all the market share leaders named in the report based on worldwide market share. According to Gartner estimates, Citrix was one of only two vendors to increase in worldwide market share and revenue in both the overall Application Delivery Controller market (ADC) and the Advanced Platforms ADC sub-segment (AP-ADC).

The growing trend among enterprise customers to centralize servers and deploy web-enabled intranet applications has resulted in a strong demand for solutions that improve the performance, security and availability of these applications. The Citrix NetScaler solution is suited to meet this demand by tightly integrating advanced traffic management capabilities with state-of-the-art application acceleration and security technology into a single easy-to-deploy network appliance. Additionally, since Citrix NetScaler's single, unified device takes the place of a number of point solutions, overall network infrastructures are simplified, and operational costs are reduced.

"Since acquiring NetScaler less than one year ago, Citrix has continued to increase that technology leadership while dramatically expanding its market reach through the extensive Citrix worldwide distribution channel. With an estimated 75 percent of all Internet users now going through a Citrix NetScaler system each day, Citrix is well positioned to continue its success in this high-growth market."

Since completing the acquisition of NetScaler in August of 2005, Citrix has increased market share by expanding the reach of the NetScaler product line through its worldwide distribution channel. Additionally, market share gains have been influenced by the exposure of the NetScaler product line to the vast Citrix installed base, which counts more than 180,000 customers worldwide.
