Drupal E-Commerce 4.7 Released

The popular open source content management platform Drupal is now complete with a new e-commerce solution: the Drupal E-Commerce 4.7.  The E-Commerce project is a Drupal project containing over 30 modules, and 5 developer APIs.  The release was announced on Drupal's official website at drupal.org .


The new Drupal E-Commerce is a collection of modules that can be used to sell goods and services.  Features include tax management, inventory monitoring, shopping cart, transaction and payment workflow, and much more.  The suite has already been implemented on a number of websites.

The development team been working hard to release the 4.7 version of E-Commerce -- the number of code changes per month is up from 45 in 2005 to 120 in 2006. E-Commerce 4.8 is currently in the works.

Drupal is open source software licensed under the GPL, and is maintained and developed by a community of thousands of users and developers. As such, it is free to download and use.
