Have you fallen victim to an awful web design? Well, you are not the
solitary victim. Actually, there are already a great number of preys.
If you happen to be one, try not to fall in a deep pit of frustration
by reliving the same mistake. One mistake is tolerable. However, if you
repeat said mistake said becomes stupidity.
A multitude has already befallen. To patch things up for the second
time around or to preclude others from falling into same mistake, we
should know the root of the aftermath. Crying over spilled milk is no
good simply because to dwell is to prolong distress.
Awful web designs that dent e-commerce web development are swarming
because most designers are not well-illuminated. The big no-no’s are
ambiguous and the musts are overlooked.
To keep you hassle-free, here are the things that you must avoid to create or maintain a productive web development:
Avoid pop-ups and broken back buttons. To be bombarded with these
annoying techniques is to lose the enthusiasm to stay in a site. They
are considered eyesores and a bunch of pissing destructions. Better not
to have them at all.
Horizontal scrolling is a big web design error. You are driving
visitors’ nuts or perhaps driving them away from your site if you
employ this technique. This is because great percentage of visitors
does not like to scroll horizontally. What is hard and intolerable to
them redounds to your disadvantage.
Poor navigation and huge flash intro screen must be shunned. Delay
is unwanted. Let us face it, visitors hate to wait. If you do make them
wait, they will not hesitate a second to transfer to another site that
can give them what they wanted earnestly.
Music and video overdose is ridiculous. To crank up your site with
plenty of music and video is silly. They are not visiting to take them
forever to be informed or entertained. If you can give them what they
wanted instantly, the better.
Overuse of banners and flashing moving stuffs is regrettable. They
can distract. They can be pain in the head. But the worst thing is that
they can make the visitor push the back button instantly.
Poor spelling, word choice and grammar turn off the visitor’s
craving for more. To preclude you from this unwanted scenario, try to
come up with a built-in spell checkers. Nevertheless, the best remedy
is to read and proofread and edit several times.
The worst mistake in e-commerce web development is by leaving the
visitors hanging by not divulging any contact information. It is like
working hard for nothing. You don’t want this to happen, do you?
Be cautious. Be reasonable. And step on the shoes of your visitors without leaving your other shoe.
