Prevx Introduces Prevx eSAC for Rapid Pre-transaction Defense Against Spyware, Crimeware and Rootkits for Banking, Brokerage and eCommerce Websites and their CustomersNovember 2, 2007; 09:53 AM Derby, England (PRWEB) October 31, 2007 -- Prevx Limited, the leader in herd intelligence and automated malware research, today introduced Prevx eCommerce Secure Access Checker (eSAC) which enables any banking, brokerage or eCommerce website to protect its customers by checking a client PC for active spyware, crimeware and rootkit infections prior to logon and before their credentials are exposed, thereby preventing fraud and identity theft.
Sophisticated spyware, crimeware and rootkits are driving a huge increase in credit card and online transaction fraud. Banking, Brokerage and eCommerce websites using Prevx eSAC can significantly reduce the risks, and associated costs of online fraud, by making their customers and eCommerce applications aware of active infections that could steal credit card details and user credentials. Prevx eSAC enables banking, brokerage or eCommerce sites to issue customized warnings to end users, provide advice on disinfection, and even restrict functionality in order to safeguard end users from insecure exposure. Websites developed using any of the popular web technologies can implement Prevx eSAC with less than one day of development effort. Prevx eSAC is planned to be deployed with a number of banks, financial services companies, payment providers and large scale eCommerce sites to reduce their exposure to online fraud and identity theft. Prevx eSAC does not require end user installation, is compatible with all Windows XP, 2000, 2003 and VISTA operating systems, browsers, and all major PC security products. The illustration below shows how Prevx eSAC is used to check a PC as part of the pre-logon process. Figure1 -- Web Site Logon Page
Figure 2 -- Prevx eSAC Download And Pc Scan Prevx eSAC is a state-of-the-art, on-demand spyware, crimeware and rootkit detection system using the Prevx CSI scanner technology. In a field trial during October 2007, Prevx CSI scanned 300,000 PCs and discovered that 1 in 6 (50,000) were actively infected. Commenting on the announcement, Mel Morris, CEO of Prevx said "Online fraud is anything but a victimless crime with eCommerce businesses and their customers losing billions of dollars every year. Once hacking was the sport of geeks - today the explosive rise in PC spyware and malware infections is at the heart of credit card fraud and identity theft." "Unfortunately, as our field trials have shown, traditional anti-virus products provide less than 100 percent safety," Morris added. "Now Prevx eSAC provides a powerful and easy way to check PCs at their users' most vulnerable moment - just before they perform an online transaction. Prevx eSAC can easily be implemented by any eCommerce web site or payment provider for a security win-win for customer and ecommerce."
