Mozilla Foundation issued an update of its popular Firefox browser
today, hours after reports on critical vulnerabilities appeared
online. Firefox v1.5.0.2 is impervious to the reported security
flaws.
Firefox 1.5.0.2 provides native support for
Macintosh with Intel Core processors, and stability and security
enhancements. The new version is available for download at
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/releases/1.5.0.2.html . Today
security website Secunia.com listed numerous highly critical
vulnerabilities in Firefox, which "can be exploited by malicious people
to conduct cross-site scripting
and phishing attacks, bypass certain security restrictions, disclose
sensitive information, and potentially compromise a user's system."
Version 1.5.0.2 is reported to fix the issues.
